Biography
| I am a multimedia artist. In this gallery, you'll find photographs of special places, objects and people that touch my life and my heart. Photography has been a life-long love of mine. Recently, I've added digital photography because I wanted total control over the process, from start, to finish. I still use my 35mm for some situations. My work has been exhibited and awarded.Most recently was an award for the 2005 Smithsonian Magazine Photography Contest where I placed out of 27,000 entries world-wide for my photograph entitled, Boy and Dog!!! For most of my years, starting as a child, I've painted with oils, acrylics and watercolors. I've had extensive training in architectual rendering and drafting, which is where my love for precision and perspective comes from. I do a great deal of commercial graphics and enjoy working in digital medias. I also am a keen study of nature and incorporate it often into my work. I love contrasts, whether texture, new and old, light and dark, etc. It is these contrasts which give life, as well as art, its sparkle and interest. Finally, I am a potter and a musician. I find working with my hands in the pottery or playing keyboards is a helpful link in the creative process. It is usually while I'm away from one medium and working with another that profound thoughts or ideas come. It seems to keep a sense of freshness to all of the disciplines. The creative process is the most important tool in the bag. The medium, simply, is an outlet. |
